Summer Institute Program

The Russian Language Institute (RLI) is a very effective way to quickly acquire the fundamental skills needed to communicate in Russian on a Basic level. Those that already possess some skill will be able to take their ability to the next level.

The Institute Of Strategic Languages and Cultures (ISLC) offers an eight week summer intensive Russian language course.  The cost for the 8 week course is $2250. The course is offered in two 4 - week modules and for each module you can receive 4 Undergraduate credit hours or 3 Graduate credit hours. Those wishing to enroll in this course for credit should fill out the CIU online application form. Those wishing to take the course for non credit should fill out the RLM online form.  

Summer 2008

We will be offering summer intensive courses only on even years and will have a summer hiatus for staff training on odd years.

In the summer, our courses are run through the Russian Language Institute of Columbia International University (CIU).  To apply for summer classes only, go to www.ciu.edu/summerstudies and click on “General Info.”  Up to six hours of graduate or eight hours of undergraduate credit can be earned by taking eight weeks of classes during the summer. 

Summer Tuition: $2,250 (8 weeks)*
Room & Board in CIU dormitories:  $1,640*
Russian Cultural House boarding (8 weeks):

• Double occupancy: $720*
• Single occupancy: $1,000*
• Married couple: $1,440*
